City Lights – “All Aboard: The Heritage and Future of Pennsylvania Railroading”

The Centre County Chapter is sponsoring a bus departing from Parking Lot 44 south of Beaver Stadium around 8:00 a.m. to the Penn State Altoona campus. At this family-friendly program, Gerhard A. Thelen will discuss the rich legacy of railroading in Pennsylvania, rail’s historical influence, and its future in the region. In the cost attendees will receive breakfast, Railroaders Memorial Museum tour, a visit to the Horseshoe Curve (a National Historic Landmark widely considered one of the world’s most incredible engineering feats), lunch at the new PSU Altoona Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, closing refreshments, then transportation back to State College parking lot 44.
Total Trip Cost $30 Alumni Association members/$45 non-members (and this doesn’t have to be a chapter member) and $25 per child (6-18) 5 and under free.
